Yes I did that on purpose. About a year or so ago I noticed that when using the intermittant wipers occasially they would wipe twice in a row. Yesterday they would wipe up to 4 times in a row then go back to the delay I had set for the wipers.

The delay was never faster than the shorteest delay possible and not slower than what I had dialed in. What controls the operation of the wipers?

Thanks for the info

It controls the wipers, the turn signals, the headlight dimmers and maybe the flashers, it is inside the steering column cover and the turn signal stalk(lever) is connected to it. bg

I think you have to remove all the plastic around the upper column to get to it. I have a 99 FSM and it shows it to be replaceable with the steering wheel in place. It does state that there are tamper proof screws holding the switch to col. so you may need a set of tamper proof screw tools. Also they caution to disable the air bag by disconnecting battery cables. bg

Mine has done that since truck was kinda new, probably after about 80,000 miles. It does it now and again. Just no telling when. I was told it has to do with something electrical, like a switch or relay, within the motor itself, or perhaps its limiter switch. I don't worry about it.

FYI - When you are in intermittent mode the delay is doubled while stopped at a light or parked.

FYI - I have had the wipers to not come on when I rotate the switch! Push on washer switch long enough for the wipers to cycle at least once... switch will then work normal for who knows how long. This has happened to me about 4 times and I now have 413,000+ miles!
