Is my 48re on it’s way to **cough** South **cough** Bend? Ok I’ve got this problem that has happened mysteriously twice in about 30 days +/- Symptom: I come from driving off the freeway, stop get fuel. Let’er idle while I fill the truck up at the pump. I use idle time at fill/ups as turbo cool down from driving at speed, I don’t usually if I’ve been just driving around town. Anyway, I’m done pumping fuel, jump back in and take off easy. My truck will take a little to get out of first gear, then it gets hung/up or what feels like it don’t want to shift out of second gear? I kept gradually (slowly) speeding/up and it would not shift out of second??? I get to the next light, stomp on it, to see if she will go through the entire gear range and everything is good and shifting normal. I quickly check the report screen on the edge/ Attitude, keep in mind I’m on (stock) but it’s registering 4% slip. It only did this one other time a few weeks back, I’ve got 28K on a 2005 Truck, 3:73 SRW short-bed Q/C 4x4. I tried goosing it three other times from a dead stop to see if I could get it to hang up again, and It just shifted normally with 0% slip. I’m sorry for not being too (auto-trans) savvy I’m 27 years old, and have had nine vehicles since I started driving, all have been standard transmissions, this is my first automatic ever. I have driven automatic cars that friends and family own, but the 48re shifts way different than any automatic I’ve ever driven, so I don’t know what a bad transmission feels like when it’s on it’s way out. Just need to know if I should keep DTT’s number close by right now or am I getting scared over a common clitch that happens to all 48re here and there?
