Well I've been a long time away from this post so I thought I would update it.

I replaced my apps and that did not fix the dead pedal issue. I drove for months whit the truck that way until i decided to try removing my boost module. Well that was it, the boost module went south and was fooling the computer the wrong way causing it to defuel. I replaced the module everything is great again.

I had a similar issue but it would only act up at above 3000 ft in altitude. Took a while to narrow it down to the boost module also. Put in a practical solutions module and it was good for years after.

Loss of power

How many have the white smoke when they are traveling down the road ?Before replacing the apps get a digital multi meter and check and adjust the output on is it it orange wire at the pcm mine was 0. 138 milli volts low this made a difference when it TRIED to accelerate sure wish the re&re boys had done that years ago! Do be able to monitor lift pump pressure. The best vp44 so far is the fedexed brained one, the truck doesn't have the power that everone else has! But now I can pass an empty semi going up hills if it get along enought run at it!

Jim S, What is the boost module you are talking about? Is it the same as the MAP sensor? I've got a completely stock 2002 with a 5 speed transmission and am experiencing the intermittent power loss problem. I have the Dodge shop manual and after reading it I am hoping my problem is the MAP sensor.

i've had similar problems also and have not had alot of hits on my blog but i found this one while doing a search. is a boost module the MAP sensor? Been real frustrated trieng to figure this one out and beginning to lose faith in the reliability of my pickup. 01 5 speed with edge comp completely unhooked and still having problems. I replace my VP-44 last summer and added a FASS.
