highway speeds runs fine starts missing out of the blue I let off throttle engine dies coast to side of road restart runs fine. Happened about a month ago then week ago then a few days later then it continued, limped home was able to run the engine with the miss only if I restarted immediately after it missed and died. If I waited 30 seconds it would run fine and I would have to runs rpms up for a minute or so to duplicate problem again. The next day I ran it at 1500rpm for 4 min ran fine. I drive 28 miles one way to work, the problem only happened on my way home.
Fuel pressure 22psi idle 1500 -2000 rpm build to 24-25 psi. observed exhaust while I duplicated problem at idle there was absolutely no smoke out of exhaust while missing and no drop in fuel pressure. I have hooked up some clear tubing inline with the return and feed line from the tank. I have bypassed the inlet heater and there is a new fuel filter installed I also have a Vulcan draw straw installed 50K ago. I have bypassed the fuel heater, pulled the tank out and ran the truck with the return going into a different container to verify there is no air getting in. I had a similar symptom before the injection pump was rebuilt but a harsher miss and the throttle shaft seemed to be hanging up. Has anyone had this symptom before? Is there anything in the injection pump that can cause this symptom intermittently?

Overflow valve could be acting up. But so could the p7100. I've read on the common rails rebuilt injectors are not good idea. Could apply to all injectors.
