My "Check Gauges" light comes on intermittantly when my factory oil pressure gauge shows no pressure. I'm guessing that the sending unit may be bad, so this is why I'm posting in the "Engine/transmission" category.

Anyone have a similar problem where the oil pressure gauge doesn't work all the time?

Could my EZ box cause some interference with the sending units signal?

Any ideas for a fix would be appreciated, especially the local and ease of changing/cleaning the oil pressure sending unit.

Tks.

my 2001 did the same thing. oil sender was bad. there is a reflash for this issue but if you do a search on it everyone here will tell you not to do it. just replace the sender and you should be fine. ps fill out the info on your truck so we know what your working on. ken

Kluther,

Who BOMBED your transmission?

My warranties out in 3 weeks, so need to do something about he OD slip when towing.

Also, someone "borrowed" my shop manuals. Approx where is the oil pressure sender located and any special tools needed?

tks

a friend at a local shop and i did. i used ats and other well noted parts. had chipped planetary gears from racing around while hauling my 5-ver. i also had the converter chatter. ended up costing about 3000. 00 by the time i got done. since then i learned how to play driving an auto. ken
