2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission intermittent overhead display and o/d switch

I can't figure this one out to save my life. My overhead display on the '95 and the O/d switch on the dash usually do not work or light up. But from time to time they work just like they should. It is definitely not the fuse (#11 if I remember correctly) so what else should I be looking at. I am trying to figure out a transmission problem (no 4th gear) before I go to Goerand to get it replaced just to make sure it not a mechanical problem and the O/D switch not working does not make me very happy. The switch is new and the overhead connections are tight and like I said it works just fine from time to time. Any ideas?
