Intermittent parking lights..

Hey gang, I know how we like pictures, just thought I show you what I found tonight.

My parking lights worked intermittently, and never when I needed them to of course. I pulled the headlight switch out figuring that this was the problem, and found a nice surprise. Guess I gotta find a pigtail harness now.

Well, ya cant see it because the silicone (RTV) has it all covered up. :-laf

The cost of the new plastic insulator was cheaper than a tube of RTV if a person wanted to do a cheap repair instead of doing the recall kit.

Ive been a mechanic for 26 years now
I tell my customers & DIYers that repairs need to be done correctly & with care
because when you 1/2 *** stuff, at some point its going to add up to be a bigger mess & harder to diagnose because you will have to go through all the hacks to get to the root cause
do neat electrical work & you wont regret it

I have a buddy that does that kind of work. He buys more RTV than parts.



I prefer to work like JAK, right the 1st time to prevent future headaches.

yeah my truck was bad like that when I got it its still weird near the rear axle
there are way way too many wires back there

Ill try to get some pics of my truck up soon
I did a mild resto on it about 5 years ago
