I'm posting this on behalf of my brother-in-law. He is driving a 01 CTD with approx 130k miles.
On his way from FL up to PA, he noticed an intermittent power loss while under load. It happened a couple of times but did not stall. This morning we decided it could be the fuel filter because it has been a while since it was changed. We took it to the local dealer and while taking it into the bay, it stalled several times. We had them change out the filter. Before change, pressures were 9 in and 1 out so it was time. After the filter was changed, the pressures were 10 in 9 out. Good so far. However, just putting it in gear it would stall. They did a volume test and determined it to be a bad 'transfer pump'. What do you think? Are we on track here?
TIA
George
