2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Intermittent Turn Signals

I drive a 99, 2500, Quad Cab, Long Bed, Auto, 4x4 with 328,000 on it. It is a great truck. Recently it has developed what I like to call intermittent turn signals. Sometimes they work perfectly. Sometimes they blink 4 times then stop. Sometimes they blink once and stop. I replaced the turn signal switch, and unfortunately that did not solve the problem. Does anyone have some words of wisdom for me, or could you point me in the right direction? Thanks so much!

It is probably the turn signal relay (flasher) in the inside fuse panel at the end of the dash. I have had that problem also. I noticed while sitting in the driveway if moved the relay around they would start working. every time I released it they stopped again. I took a small piece of thin foam and folded it and stuffed it in next to the relay putting some pressure on the side and it worked for a long time. I just drove the truck Saturday and they are doing it again so I guess I will have to replace it. Unfortunately I have not found them except at the dealer so far. If anybody has another source I am interested.

I did the same thing replacing the more difficult part first (signal lever). A simple plug in flasher ended up being the fix.

Flasher. My signals died in the same fashion but the hazards still worked...and it is the same flasher..I could hear it clicking.

Thanks DMather, I do not remember them having them before. I will have to stop at O'Reillys and pick one up. Seems everybody has them now. If I remember correctly from the FSM wiring diagram there are 2 separate relays in the case, one for turn signals and one for hazard flashers.
