Has anyone changed a oil sender out?

1, How difficult? It looks like it's in a hard to reach location.

2, What is the part number?

3, Is it a Cummins number or a DC number?

Thanks in advance.

I called Freightliner, they're an authorized Cummins dealer, They gave me a part number of 3329619 for $131. 25 and said it was one piece of a 2 part system. Then I called My local Dodge dealer and they said they will fix it under warranty, first I called the parts dept to make sure they had the sender and their part number is 501-2991AC for $184. 00, I hope it not the one that requires an ECM update.

Don't let them reflash your truck! If it's what they call warranty work, buy the sender from Cummins and do it yourself. It's just one part, I paid 69$ for it at Cummins. Part number on my invoice says #3408428, was a year ago so it may have changed. All you need is 32 MM deep socket and a 6" extension for the ratchet.

Stay away from the dealer

Do what BFC says and go to cummins for it and do it yourself. Mine would have charged me the 180 bucks and for the cost of 50 bucks an hour would have changed it for me. Thanks for nothing.

Well Dodge replaced it under warranty. I asked first if there was any reflashes, The answer was no. I'm glad I didn't do it, I couldn't fit my arm in where the skinny tech could, and he had a hard time... . The new part number that was on the sensor is 4088390.
