Intermitttent Wipers ,and Auto Dimming Headlights

Possibly the magic box is not getting messages from the BCM.

Can you check and see if the module is available on the Bus with a scan tool?

Says default for the system is Low speed if no messages are recieved from the BCM. The BCM reads the selector switch, then sends the info it gets to the magic box.

There is some sort of Customer Option deal where you can the feature off as well. Maybe you can toggle the feature on and off? Did not say if that was EVIC or Scan Tool for that setting. It's almost like they expect you to know what you are doing with this stuff.

I can toggle it off ,and on , on the EVIC, which I have done a couple times to see if it was working like it should.

The symptoms may be due to a "contaminated" view by the sensor; possibly due to poor sensor position, a bad calibration, a smudge, or dust particles affecting the refraction sensor.
Here is a thread from another forum with one explanation where the "gel coating" was causing the same issue you describe. A new windshield fixed the issue posted by "The Q".

I talked to him about the sensor, and the gel thing ,this truck does not have that type sensor , no gel is what he told me .
