International DT 360 engine

A quick question about an International DTA 360 engine. What injection pump do they use, what is the apprx. horsepower max they can produce and are they very costly to upgrade on the horsepower. A friend is looking at a 92 Crew cab lo-pro truck to do some trailer pulling and was concerned about the engine not developing enuff HP!!

DT 360

The little DT 360 is a good truck engine. I would not put it on the same level as the 5. 9 cummins for torque and power. It is a wet sleeve engine so it is very rebiuldable. They use the American Bosh model 100 rotary fuel pump. There is potential for 200 hp quite reliably, however you need egt and boost gauges. The 360 repair parts are quite a bit more expensive than the DT 466s. That may be a better choice. IMHO
