Ford F-650 and F-750 Diesel Option = Cummins

Thats a Cummins 275 with the roots blower, built into a 300 I think. He was probably going to a truck show. He has about 20 acres of old trucks and crawler tractors. He has a tourist attraction with an old saw mill powered by a one cylinder diesel engine "Huge" he cuts a board about every 30 minutes and is open year around. I love to go there, Jerome, Az.

Is that Alt US 89 he is driving near Cottonwood, AZ?

I bought a KB5 years ago. I was going to restore it and use it as a delivery truck back when I was sawing shingles. I later realized it was just to far gone. Damn these New England winters.

Yes, Jerome is an old mining town built on the side of a mountain. Thats a tough haul road from Cottonwood to Yarnell. I hauled wood pellets there years ago. Yarnell is where they had a bad fire this summer and killed 19 firefighters.

The first vehicle I ever got to drive was my Grandpa Metzger's KB-5, out on his farm. I was seven. I guess that's why I have difficulty relating to anyone who's afraid to drive. It had an enormous inline 6 that was rated @ 80HP, 4-spd and 2-speed axle. I didn't ever get a chance to learn to split-shift, though I read that damn aluminum data plate 100 times.

I was raised in a Navy surplus 1943 K7 w/269 cid blue diamond and 5spd. That was a big engine for that era.
