I've been a lurker for quite some time, now finally, however long overdue, I've joined the TDR.

Here's the lowdown.

I'm from Quesnel, BC, Canada and I'm in the midst of basically rebuilding (externally) a 90 Regular cab W350. It spent it's life as a welding truck, and has very low mileage. The body had suffered over the years, so because I'm a little different :-laf , I'm replacing the sheetmetal with (new) 77 model year panels.

I removed the deck and am replacing it with what we here call a "forestry" box. It'll still be a work truck, because, in my mind they are the last of the real trucks.

Also, my old man and I are winding down on another project, dropping a 24v in a 95 Chev crew cab 4x4 dually... but that belongs in another forum. :)

Sorry for the long-winded speach.

Kris.

Welcome aboard! Sounds like you will fit in just fine with us first genners! New 77 sheetmetal huh? Sounds good so far. Last of the real work trucks, yup, you're right on there.

But what the heck is a "forestry" box?

Get some pics up when you get a chance.

Michael

The loggers here use them, hence the name "forestry box. "

A factory truck box wouldn't last a month for some of these guys.

The box pictured is the one i'll be using, it is currently on a chev one ton srw. I'll have to flare the wheel openings, of course.
