As a noted disgruntle filter user (on other vehicles)...

I'm admittedly curious.

I'm surprised there isn't much hype on the 'ol www about this stuff????

I'd figure the Rice Boys, or the V-8 crowd would have had a buzz on them????

Quite curious.

Thanks for bringing this to light for some scrutiny.

Oh, how sad. I was just starting to enjoy this group purchase talk.

Sounds like good clean aircleaner discussion chat...

Price & where to purchase are major factors in determining which product to buy. Also it keeps the manufacturers on notice that their product better be good, or they will lose the sale.

It is also a big attraction to this site to be able to find out where the good, safe deals are. We finally have a central location where we can share our experience and are all ready being limited... huh...

If there are legitimate complaints coming in thats different, but I'm sure not complaining. 'scuse me for sounding off, & I know youre just doing your job Steve, its not personal. Maybe I'm in the wrong.

Ok guys, enough bs.

Back to the topic at hand... I have a question.

To really get the intake flow, it seems like you would need to dump the airbox, and throw the re-880 style filter at the end of the accordian hose (or better yet get rid of the accordian). But heres the deal. What happens if you blow a water hose or whatever, and you get water in the intake?? Yes, will it be enough to cause the dreaded hydro crackkkk!!!

Frankly thats the only reason I havent gone that route. Is it a risk??

Yea, I know... Schotty Schotty Schotty... sorry but I ain't cuttin a 4-1/2 inch hole in my truck, and I dont want the intake noise.

Shortshift, K&N never claims to filter out water, Cover enough of the surface and it will draw water. That was my concern with pulling air from the engine compartment, rather than out front thru the fender as designed.

So, ENOUGH TIME HAS PASSED,

IS ANYONE USING ONE OF THESE AFE'S YET?

I am really surprised they're isn't a buzz in the Import (RiceBoy) or Muscle Car crowds about a new product.

I sent them an e-mail asking if they'd done any comparison testing and presently await a reply.

So any first hand experience(s) yet?

The 'ol S. O. P. -ometer... or the all important "silica in the oil sample"?

I looked for this company at SEMA and didn't find it. There where many other copies of the K&N filter, some with the same color oil and others green, blue, & yellow.

Granted, I am new here, but want to try and understand what is going on. Steve L. , correct me if I am wrong. I was reading this post, and a couple of days ago researching the VA box on old posts. I see the same thing come to light. Everybody bit**in' about not knowing the price of an accessory. Nobody has ever stated that you can't find out. Of course that is a major factor in buying an item or not. So email the guy and ask him. On the VA's when they first came out, Ted J. clearly stated that you need to call to get the price, yet people bit**ed about not posting it. So call him already and ask him. The phone call is probably quicker than other methods anyway. I don't want to sound like I am on a soapbox, but if prices are to be discussed in the classifieds section like it states in the guidelines, then discuss them there. If you need to call or email a vendor to get the price. Just do it. No need to continually post several times in a thread whining about not knowing the price. This has been going on for many, many months, yet people continue. There has to be guidelines to keep this site headed in the right direction. You may not understand the reasoning behind it, but you don't have to understand it to be able to follow it. 'Nuff said.
