Invisible bra

Anyone have knowledge or had Invisible bra installed ? I think its a (3m tape product) installed on your truck. I was wondering what the cost was for the total job. I realize you can opt to cover just a few parts of your truck or all of it. So please if you had it done tell me the parts done and the total cost.

I had my 03' done when it was new, and it is still in very good condition. The cost was a round $175. 00, but I had the entire sides of the grill covered, as well as the front portion of the fenders and bumper.

While it may be pricey - depending on if you have a sport model truck or not, I highly suggest checking out www.invinca-shield.com . They have computer laser cut kits to fit most vehicles. I got the full deluxe 13 piece kit for my sport, and every bit of the front paint is covered. 45k later I have no rock chips, and the kit has a 5 or 6 year warranty. I had it put on the day I picked up my truck.

Yes Dealer installed, I think I got burned but I want to make sure first before I start complaining and alerting this site of the dealership as perhaps I am wrong.



I am going to www.invinca-shield.com and figure exactly what I got was worth the price I pd.

We just started selling it, And I think it is not that cool for the money we are asking... Retail for the whole front end (and I mean the WHOLE front) - $549



And I refuse to sell it, what a joke, Maybe for about $250 - Then I would think about it



Looks ok from 5 feet - but in our showroom under flouresant lights, looks terrible



PS - it could be that our installers looks terrible, though

Tomeygun, "(and I mean the WHOLE front)" How about the body panels behind the wheels where small stones can get toss up by tires and truck bed rails would these area's be extra or are they included for that 549 ?

Nope only on the paint that wind hits on the front - ie. where bugs splat, and rocks hit - All around the head lamps, and about 6 inch back from there



BUT I did ask about rocker panel covering, but they said they dont have a fit for that yet - And the bed rail is a great idea, But again, no kit yet, and not included in the $549

I had it installed on my 2004. 5 Dually's entire front end including the top of the bumper and headlights/fog lights. Also, I had the installation shop do the front of my dually fenders. I believe it cost me $650 and I watched them do it. It was like applying clear tint on the paint and it took them over 5 hours to do both fenders. It was well worth the money because I am planning on keeping the truck for a least 12 years. After 11 months of it on, I would do it again.



My truck is white and when it is dirty, there is a line of dirty that shows between the 3M film and the paint but otherwise in the sun or from a far you'll never see it. No worries about rock chips and kamikaze bugs.

My problem is it appears I did not get all the 3M pcs I was told I would get But I did get charged what I was quoted. I will call him tomorrow to get his side



I wish you would have had the truck I wanted buy if you remember I wanted a 3500 Quad NV5600 with H pkg for Calif. as my wife needed the nice pwr seat. Good news is my wife loves the truck and the seat too.

On a serious note, does this thing sun bleach or start to cloud up over time?

3M invisible bra

50,000 miles on my '03 and not a chip of paint knocked off where the bra was used. It is expensive but worth it. I paid like $200 for across the front part of the hood, under the grille and across the front of the fenders - anywhere a rock was likely to hit head-on.



DC's paint is easily chipped off by rocks; worse, the primer is white and the chips really stand out and demand to be fixed. I strongly suggest the 3M bra if you're interested in maintaining the front end of your truck.



Additionally, I am told 3M is THE bra to have. There are less expensive bras out there but the good shops won't use them.

It's like anything else: the first time you try it is the most difficult. Successive installations are easier. Personally, tho, I wouldn't want to learn on my own vehicle.

I got some of the stuff from Geno's garage. Put it where the mudflaps were touching the paint.

There is a visible line where the stuff ends but you really gotta look to find it. Hard to make it fit the curve of the wheel well but I went slow and careful with an X-acto knife and trimmed it pretty well. No paint rubs yet.



I DO wish I had done the front end. 11 months and 25000 miles later, the front end looks like the surface of the moon. Spent quite a while on Saturday with the touch up paint...
