St. Louis MO DYNO day is a GO!!! Nov 19th, (LOAD DYNO)

Central Chapter Branch Poll

Anyone here interested in an Iowa TDR chapter? I wouild be happy to organize and notify if we can get enough people to have a gathering now and then. It seems we have plenty of members here in my immediate area in Iowa and Wisconsin, and Minnesota that we could do some sort of chapter?

Chris

I would also have gatherings at my country home where we can wrench in my heated and cooled shop and do some grilling and unlimited camping room included. Maybe we could start a grass drag here like the snowmobile riders do and I have miles of dirt roads barely accessible with a tractor that we can play on. Let me know what you guys think... . we aren't having near enough fun in this part of the country that we should!

I am interested and from IA, but alas, I am stationed in Fl right now, but would love to meet some "diesel heads" when I go back on leave every year.

Hey Chris. You forgot to add IL. :p :-laf I was born and bred in Iowa, though. Still consider myself an Iowan. :D

Sounds like fun to me. The guys in IL don't seem to get together much either. No other TDR/DTR members around here that I know of. I have seen some BOMBed Rams around here, but I'm always going the other direction. Did get to play with a BOMBed 3rd gen a little eariler this year. :D They're fast. :D

Chris,

I would be interested but don't know how often I would be able to make it down there because of the distance. I think we need more events at Hooter's, like we had in LaCrosse, WI for example :-laf

I'll just have to start saving money now for fuel to make the trip :--) :-laf

Uhmm, I'm waiting. ;) It's time we unite and get into the west coast, east coast argument, with some old farm boy diesel tuning techniques!! ;)

We should have a meeting at Donnellson IA truck pull next summer ;) ''. I know I'll be there.

Michael

A good friend of mine, Tony Welch of Welch Performance Diesel, will be there at the Donnellson pull next year. Another good friend, Luke Newton, runs the sled. Sorry I missed it this year.

I am up for another event in or around Iowa this coming spring and summer.

Eric

Oh man Eric, we must run in the same circles. I watched Tony pull at Blakesburg and Donnelson. I also know Lon and Luke Newton. I have spent some time with Lon talking truck pulling and street class rules.

Who else do you know up around Des Moines? I used to work at Ziegler and try and pull with the guys I befriended in that area. I lived in Winterset for a couple of years. Its been a few years but I have hooked at Maxwell, Adel, Winterset,

Donnelson was a great pull, all three times this year. Sounds like they are going to have several pulls next year there, including an invitational. That one for sure will be good to watch. Hopefully I can tweak my 75 and get it running a little better for next summer.

Michael

It certainly does. I met Tony a few years ago at the dyno at Georano Bro’s. I hang out with him once a week or two. He has been a huge help to me getting my truck squared away. I used to work with Luke at a design firm in downtown Des Moines. I have been gone quite a bit over the last couple years with deployments with the Army so I am just getting back into things here in Iowa.

Eric

I'm only about 50 miles from Iowa (Nebraska), but there was no box for that, so I had to check 'not interested'... I WOULD be interested in it though if

something was going on near Des M. or west of there.

I haven't seen anything from the guys that had started a chapter in NE for a while, and so I am wondering if they have lost interest?

Anyway, looking forward to seeing what comes out of this. . Maybe I'll be able to get to go to another gathering yet!

AG

You could call it the upper mississippi valley tdr chapter :D I grew up between western wisconsin northeast iowa annd southeast minnesota count me in. I am currently a GLTDR member but the club has very little active membership right now. I would love a club closer to home and to a area I know. bmoeller you know of me  so lets add Illinois to your poll. Oo.

I am in.

Would like to meet the rest of the Iowa TDR guys, plus I could use it as a way to get a few area guys into interested in the TDR.

Well it looks as if we have some interest going here so maybe we should start thinking about setting a date and place. After going over the locations of people responding I would say Cedar Rapids would be a good location to meet since it's kinda central to all responses. I know there are more people who would come if word got spread out more. Mielke on TDR is from my area but lives in Cedar Rapids and maybe if he catches this thread he could line up a spot down there and I will start my own search. Would January 7th give everyone enough time to get organized and make it along with saving fuel money? I'm open for suggestions here.

Chris

this weekend

I don't know what everyone has going on this weekend, but I may go hang out with my friend Tony Welch (Welch Performance Diesel) around Des Moines. I need to get a new CPS installed and a TSB taken care of on my truck and we usually grill a bunch of meat and shoot the breeze on lots of diesel topics.

If anyone is interested on this short notice, let me know and I will talk with Tony and figure something out.

I see Chris asked this... . if we are looking at Cedar Rapids, the 7th is still open for me, weather permitting of coarse. Seems like it snows everyday for the last month sometimes. The 21st will not work for me, I'll be out of town.

Is anything setup yet? I know its pretty busy time of the year.
