Iowa TDR Chapter???

Do any of you think you might hang out at the dragstrip this year? Mid America Motorplex www.midamericamotorplex.com is looking at including the DHRA/DieselPower! Drag Racing Series in their schedule this year. Jim Howe, the track manager, asked if I thought there would be any interest and I said I would check, so what do you say?

I saw your post on the track over in western IA. I know most of the group talking about meeting in Cedar Rapids is more on the east/central side of Iowa. You really need to get ahold of the guys out around Omaha. Sounds like they have a pretty good group going over there. They would be more appropriate to answer this question. I'm all for traveling to go have fun, but thats a pretty good trip for me.



Is there going to be anything going on at Coradova(sp?) IL drag strip this year? That track is a little closer to me. I really don't have anything to race, yet... working on a 90 with an auto... . it will be a few years before its ready for any passes though. I'm always up for meeting other diesel heads though.

Wow Aron, I leave the country for a few years and look what happen to your truck. It grew another turbo. Hopefully we can all get together again this spring. Have you seen Tony's Duramax? (WOW)

Yea, I have PM turned off-Firefox doesn't like PM screens for some reason. Anyway, I sent the proposal to over 300 tracks, including Cordova, I have not received anything back from them. I can put up a seperate thread for the Nebraska folks and stop the hi jacking here.

I just wanted to thank the guys that showed up yesterday. Had a good time meeting some guys with the same intrests and hobbies as I. Every time I have encountered guys from groups like the DTR and the TDR it has been a good time.



I have the list of contact info of the guys that came. Everybody that met yesterday was very interested in doing this again. Please PM me or email me at -- email address removed -- and I will put your name and contact info on the list.



Everytime I get info for an area truck pull, drag race, or whatever, I will send out a notification to everybody on the list. Dunno how "official" our group will be, but its just fun to meet up, maybe have a wrench day, etc, etc. It sounds like Tony and Eric want to do something in the Des Moines area next time. Dyno event, or just a tweak and play day.

Nothing yet, that I know of. A fellow in Cedar Rapids is working on a dyno day this summer, he is just waiting to see the truck pulling schedules. Then he will pick a weekend hopefully with out a pull. I know a couple of guys from the Ames area want to have a git-to-gether this summer too.



Just kinda been waiting for the weather to stabalize, and some pulls to be scheduled.



Are you going to IRP? The wife and I made hotel reservations, now I'm looking for a convoy out. Do I have your email/contact info?

I am hoping to attend IRP this year. I was there in 2003 and attended another auto club event in 2005. The facilities are very nice.



I mentioned it to Tony so hopefully we will have a group of people driving out there together this year.

I don't want to play dumb, because I really don't know the answer to this, but what is IRP? I will be back up in the homeland for two weeks in May, the week before Memorial Day and the week of the holiday.

If you look under national events, you will see the information for IRP which is in Indianapolis. It is June 23-25.
