Has anybody installed an adapter on this radio? Part numbers? I am having trouble finding something that will plug right in to the back of the radio, and I want to have everything on hand before I tear the unit out of the dash.

Also, any pictures of the back side of this radio? I'm also curious if an aftermarket backup camera can be plugged into the back of this unit???

What do you have RER, REN or REQ? On the Jeep forums we found that the cable is in short supply. If Uconnect is not installed then it won't work (At least with on screen control)

Hey toolman, thanks for the reply. Honestly, I have no idea which radio I have. Was there more than one nav radio offered on a 7. 5??? Regardless, I don't have uconnect so it sounds like it is not going to work out. Appreciate the reply though.

Many people will say NOT to go this route, BUT I ahve been using one of these FM transmitters for several years now and find it to be convenient AND of more then acceptable sound quality. It is the Transpod Classic, made by DLO. It plugs into the cig lighter, to the right of my steering wheel, and an exceptionally easy to read and use height. This particular FM transmitter was reviewed by several electronix blogs and got solid reviews, unlike others which do not work nearly as well. It is both a cradle and a charger and a player for iPods. Here is a link for one that is an open box return with full warranty -- Digital Lifestyle Outfitters 009-3033 DLO TransDock Classic - Digital player car holder / FM transmitter / charger - iPod -- though I have never done biz with this site. (It is a hellava deal, though, as I payed close to $100 for each of ours and this one is listed at $20).

Again, my wife and I have used 2 of these for combined 3 years of use and have had NO issues.

Just my thoughts on a possible cableless solution that is convenient and still sounds great, IMHO.

If you want me to, I could possibly post a pic of how it looks in my truck.

PS--I am only spaeking to the DLO Transpod Classic iPod tuner, and not there "micro" or others. It is possible that the newest DLO Transpod 3. 0, is as good as the Classic, but it does not have sides on the cradle, which I don't like for our bouncy trucks, but it might work just fine.

You do have the Nav right? i did some research and the Nav I have and what you have are two totally different deals. I have a 30 GB MYGig DVD high speed canbus in the Jeep. The Rams in 07,8 and 9 have essentially the same unit with VES and all but have the slower speed CanBus connection that is not so flippingly involved with the way the road noise and steering angle changes the volume accordingly.

Anyhow what we do have in common is the love for gadgetry and that is where the Lockpick thingy comes into play that unlocks the factory goodies that chrysler locked out from th efactory. I am going to install on mine. It allows for Backup camera, DVD in motion, And Nav manipulation while driving. That is all a seperate venue altogether (And about 200 bucks)

BAck to the whole IpoD thing. Another way for control is:
