FYI for those buying a new truck be sure to check the paint for tiny iron deposits that imbed into the paint. They will look like tiny rust spots on white paint . On colors just run your hand on the paint if it feels rough in places (especially the hood and fenders ) your paint probably has some on it . these come from iron deposits that are thrown up by the frictIon of he train wheels on the track . Just have your dealer buff them out before you accept the truck . They were on my new one .

CarPro Iron X Iron Remover 1 Liter

Remove harmful iron deposits and protect your paint!

Iron X by CarPro is an acid-free, pH-balanced iron remover that decontaminates auto paint and wheels. Iron X prevents the spread of iron-related damage to protect your vehicle from paint system failure. Your vehicle constantly faces unseen threats. Remove them with Iron X!

Airborne chemical compounds and ferrous (iron-containing) particles penetrate auto paint and create corrosive compounds that eat into the paint's sublayers. Detailing clay removes the particles but it doesn't remove their effects - corrosion may already be creeping under the paint's surface.

The only way to truly remove ferrous particles is with a dedicated iron remover like Iron X. Iron X opens up the paint's pores to release iron particles and to neutralize the caustic compounds that have developed as a result of the particle. In one step, you can eliminate the cause and its effects. Put an immediate stop to paint damage before it's too late.

Got some of this last week for the rust spots I notice when last washing the truck. Just waiting for a warm day so I can use it.

Guess that would be a question to carpro. Only thing I can think of is that when the iron dissolves a sort of pore is there as it was imbedded in the paint. Primer is porous but I do not believe top coats are. All I do know is it works.

Rail dust has been around for years, but it isn't nearly as bad today as it was when most of the rail cars were not enclosed. Clay will generally pull most of the iron out and it is the least intrusive way to do it.

My truck had a “Spa Day”
Just got mine acid washed, rubbed down and waxed today.

You do realize Blackbirds had iron deposits in there paint to foul-up radar, but I don't recommend in Ram trucks paint! Beautiful looking blue truck.

I just did the macquires ceramic clay spray on and clay pad. It got a lot of the roughness out of a truck that sat for over 2 years on the lot.
It also leaves a ceramic coating. So time will tell if is a one step process.
