Have an '03 2500 with about 4500 miles in 5 months. I am lucky enough to have a company car that I use daily, so the Ram doesn't get driven much during the week. Unfortunately, it also stays outside, at least until I build another garage, or clean the one we have out!

Anyway, the question is: are there any additional precautions I need to take to protect the truck since it's not used every day? I keep the tank topped off, buy fuel from the same station every time, and keep a sharp eye on fluid levels.

Yeah, it's nice to have such a vehicle for oui 3rd car. Nice and expensive!:D

Same Here

I use a fuel additive almost always and once a year, the anti algae stuff. I top off the tanks once a month too at the "cheap"station in canton. (575 and 140 exit, $1. 30 per right now. )

I don't think you're hurting it too much. Keep some good wax on it and use a sunshade in warmer weather and your truck should do just fine.

I use the Shell @ Riverstone & 575. Lots of turnover, so it's probably fresher. Still takes an extra 5 minutes to get the last 4 gallons in!

Hey Vaughn Mckenzie, what kind of wax do you use? Most of the stuff I've tried leaves streaks. And I've waxed a lot of trucks over the years. Any suggestions?

Zaino Brothers Wax! Kinda 'spensive, but so's my truck! :)

I fill up the company truck at that Shell station all the time using "the Fuel man service". For our personal diesel though, I can't do $1. 39 verses $1. 30. That station on 140 is very active, we have never had a problem. Saves me about $4. 50 to $5. 85 per filling with the aux tank, about 50 to 65 gallons for a fill up. Not bad for a local station on the way home. Oo.

It sure is nice having these prices! Have you experienced the tire pressure leakage? Our dually needs air about once every month. I use 65 all the way around and seem to loose 4 lbs per tire a month. Maybe its a dually thing or Goodyear thing, but my 98 SRW with BFGs maintains 55 psi almost all year without any help.

Zaino Bros

Zaino is good stuff. I isn't really a wax, rather a polimer polish made for clear coat paints. It won't wash off like wax and provides excellent UV protection, not to mention that "mile deep shine"
