Has anybody paid attention to the new Dakotas and the front end of the 06 Rams? Are they just testing the dealer salesmen? See just how good they are at selling these things. Is the Ram to look like the Ford Super Duty or the other way around? Food for thought. Some have described the profile of the Dakota as an unattractive underbite. Oh well

I will say the Dakota's are pretty ugly and I'm not too thrilled with the look of the Durango's either. I do like the look of the Magnum and the Chrysler 300.

The '06 Mega Cab grille is pretty sharp looking, but I don't think I would trade that look over my '05 Laramie grille.

Some of us have thought that the Dodge Diesels started downhill after the 2002's. I haven't seen the new ones (or pictures of other than the Mega) coming out.

Actually I miss my 12v 98 quadcab. . That was one nice truck and rarely made me walk. If not for the dozen fuel and oil senders and the brake pull, I might still be driving it!

Part of me misses my '98 12V Quad also, sure don't miss the brakes or steering compared to the new one though. Also don't miss all the diesel soot buid-up in the garage. As for looks..... that opens up a can of worms, but for me, I like the look of the 3G over the 2G, much more refined and modern looking. My brother has an '01. 5 and when they are parked side by side, the 3G is the hands down better looking truck, exspecially in Laramie trim. 2G is still a goodlooking truck though. What I miss the most, (No not the noise), but the big black cloud of soot I could blow out the tailpipe when someone was tailgating me.

Where can you see a picture of an 06 Ram? I didn't know any info was available yet.

I must agree, the new style seems a HUGE step in the wrong direction :(

TFucili, thanks, but that's the Mega Cab.

Is there anything around on the 2006 model year for other than the Maga Cab or the Dakota. Speaking CTD Ram truck, that is.

The previous point was, that is the new front end and dashboard for ALL 2006 Rams, not just the Mega Cab. There are no powertrain changes for 2006.

I realize that appearance/styling is a matter of individual taste and perspective so there is not going to be a consensus on the changes to the 2006 Ram. With that said, IMHO, I agree with you that what they have done with the 2006 Ram is decidedly unattractive and is taking the appearance down hill.

Mega CAb in 2006 Yes, Yes Yes.

MY love the 206 and hates the 3rd genertion, so it all personel task. i happy see up for a mega cab. around christmas.

Yea, what KC said :-laf ('nuther Joisy boy)

I don't know what they're thinking. . I was following an Acura SUV the other day and it's rear bumper looked a lot like the 06 front bumper. Blech. Glad I've got an 03.

Pardon me, but I speak jive. He said that he adores the new mega-cab design, but finds the previous styling of the 3rd generations dreadful. He anticipates purchasing a new truck before the end of the calendar year. ;)

LMAO... I thought I was the only one that remembered Mrs. Cleever!! :-laf

I think I like it, except for that ugly silver bar on the bottom. It looks very Nissanish. If it were body color, it would look better, IMHO. I suppose if it were in my driveway, it would look better. :p
