Is DC going for the ugly look or what?

Deffinatly Thugly from the front of the front tire foreward. Whats up with the wrap around headlight thing. It will be pretty tuff to beat the looks of the 2nd gens!

I think I like it, except for that ugly silver bar on the bottom. It looks very Nissanish. If it were body color, it would look better, IMHO. I suppose if it were in my driveway, it would look better.

The red truck is the Laramie that has that strange color-corners/chrome-middle bumper. If you look at Steve's pics from the show, the black one is an SLT and has a bumper similar to the current 3rd gen look of color across the top and chrome main, full side-to-side.

I like the look of the 3G over the 2G, much more refined and modern looking. .

Gotta say that I sure miss my '91 first gen. That front end still looks best to me. Still see them from time to time and often stop to take a long, wistful look. That front end in a new crew cab would be my dream... but I'm going to look closely at the 2006 super crew. We attended the first three TDR national rallies... loud and clear at each, lots of guys wanted a real crew cab. Hope this 2006 is it, even with only a 6' bed. Problem with that is that I can't use my air ride hitch, and will need a sliding hitch to pull our fiver. Someday, we'll have the perfect truck, maybe.

I'm glad i bought an '02. The trucks seem to get uglier every year. The Dakota is extremely revolting. The Chrysler 300 looks cool !!

I know your particular truck is a good look'n one. But ain't most dodges ever made been a bit not as nice look'n as Chev or Ford. I did like the old power wagon look but I think these dodges have to grow on you. Its all good.
