Is Dodge having problems or what?

I got a call from my father this morning asking me to find out what I can on the TDR. He ordered a CTD earlier this month and expected delivery sometime in Dec. He got a call from either the dealership or Dodge directly (didn't ask who it was b/c I was so POed) and was told that he would not recieve his '05 until Feb. ?! They also stated that DC is not taking any more special orders? :--) What's goin' on?????? Did I luck out getting mine???? Is there something wrong w/ the '05's now??????? WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also heard all Cummins truck production is being moved to the States.

I was driving my 05 4 weeks after I called my order in. Maybe the larger dealers have more pull in the delivery department.

There's also the 'rumors' that the cummins is slated to be upped to 630 ft/lbs of tq and then not too long afterwards WAY more than that even. Remember the 'cutoff' when they started the '600' motors. There were delays then also. . just about like now.

I ordered mine 3 months ago and they told me last week it's due in Dec 6th. This is after a 2 week hold up because the color I wanted is not in production anymore. We'll see... ... ... ... .

Well, I can tell you that there is absolutely no hold on special orders, I just put one in from home for a friend. . It went in no problem...



The problem is how fast will it get built and does the Dodge dealer in question have enough allocation?

PS - as of today... we are about 8-9 weeks out, the holidays did not help the matter



PPS- just talked to my uncle (33 years at the st. louis truck plant), he said they are only have a 7 day backlog of trucks... So the 1500s are having NO problem getitng built (of course how would want a wimpy ol' gasser anyway??)

I ordered an '05 3500 4weeks ago... checked today, and it does now have a production date. I was told a few days ago there was a hold on all 6 speed orders because of supply problems.

I checked on my order from Dave Smith Motors today. It was released from customs and on it's first railcar out of Laredo Tx with a approx arrival in Spokane on or about 12/10. I placed the order on 11/08 with a confirmation from the factory on 11/11. I ordered a 3500 Dually 6sp SLT 4x4, LSD 3:73, 6 disc with Infinity speakers and radio controls on the wheel. Basically stock for now many upgrades on the way. I have'nt filled out my sig yet, but above is new truck.



Old truck is 97 F350 Crew Cab PSD multiple upgrades. 4" exhaust exits in front R rear tire, Superchip Tuner, 3 gauge A-Pillar, 4" intake, Rancho 9000's, Mag Hytec transmission & rear covers, Western Diesel electronic exhaust brake, Leer shell, Air Lift bags and Smittybuilt steps.
