... . or has anybody else had trouble getting at the IA sensor???

obviously,a deep socket is needed. . but ,man what a PITA to get at!!! i tried to pull it at lunchtime, put i just didn't have enough time/patience... i'll give it another go soon... any suggestions would be appreciated!!!! . tom

13/16" deep socket is all you need... Pretty easy to get at, and it's not in there very tight. I pulled mine out, and at 48K, it was hardly dirty. Looked like new... Seems the trucks with exhaust brakes always have a dirty IAT sensor. That's due to valve overlap... Read more about it in the "IAT Cleaned" post.

Tom, I did it from the front of the engine. Ratchet, 6 inch extension and the 13/16 spark wrench. Knees on the bumber (no I didn't bend my fins) just lean right over there with the valve cover for an arm brace.

It took me about 15 minutes for the entire operation. I went at it from the side of the truck, standing on a chair. It turned out that I did not need the extension so it ended up on stand-by duty.
