I usually daily drive on 3X3 and tow on 2X2 to keep from smoking my trailer up on long hills. 3X3 with the Mach 3s is quicker than most vehicles out there and makes it a hoot to drive. 5X5 with the Drag Comp is kind of smoky and warm. With the regular comp it didn't get warm but was still smoky.

I use 2x3 for towing and/or cruise control, 3x5 for romping around, and 5x5 to kill (jerks, VP, HY etc... ).

Basically, you're going to shorten the life of your engine and transmission the more power you develop and the harder you drive it. For myself, I'm willing to accept that I may only get 150-200K out of it, but I'm going to enjoy every minute of it. It's all a matter of your tolerance for unexpected breakdowns and the costs that come with them as well as waving good-bye to your warranty. You just have to decide what balances the equation in your situation. For the record, my truck has about 50K miles on the current set-up and is driven daily in full-on mode - usually hitting peak boost about 1-2 times daily - no breakdowns so far, DTT transmission with billet shafts performing flawlessly day after day. I feel like a kid everytime I go somewhere Oo.
