Is it possible to cut the ball joints??

I have bad ball joints and after reading many posts on the difficulty of the hub removal I have a question. Since my ball joints are bad anyway is it possible to cut the ball joints to allow the removal of the knuckle and hub as one??? I think this would be easier to remove the hub from the knuckle while it is off the truck, right????

if there is enough room to do the cutting without damaging anything other than the ball joints, why not?

cut off wheel or plasma would probably work best

I cut mine with a sawzall!! not really that hard to do.

I think the shop said the press was at 3 ton befor they popped out. I cleaned everything up and put some anti-seize on as it went together.
