Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Is it possible

In the event that I become a candidate for a new transmission (I hope not) can the 47re in my 2001 truck be replaced with a 48re? I'd like the tow/haul capability and certainly don't need a new truck yet with only 99,000 miles on it.

I am not positive, but im pretty sure that the computer stuff is different so it wont work too well, but you can put a 48re valve body in a 47re by switching a couple minor things. That combo seems to work well. there in't too much difference between to two transmission's, a few more clutch discs or something here and there, and the 48re runs more line pressure.
