Ok, so what Im understanding is the least expensive repair for what I might have is
1. Repalce governor pressure transducer
2. Replace solenoid ( which solenoid? is there a more specific name )
3. Replace TC clutch pack (is TC tourque converter?)
4. Replace OD clutch pack (is OD overdrive)
The least expensive thing you can do for the shifting is the transducer and governor pressure solenoid. There is only on gov pressure solenoid, the others are for lockup and OD.
The TC will need replaced or rebuilt, takes a machine shop with knowledge to do it.
If you pull the OD (over drive) unit to bebuild the OD clutches then you need to bebuild the OD direct clutch pack also. Then, putting it back together it will likely require shimming different than stock, take knowledge and parts to do that right as it is not a bolt on application.
With those miles on that transmission it will likely require some hard parts replacement with a rebuild. Depends on what you want to do and can afford to address the issue.
The gov solenid and transducer is around $100. The TC can be rebuilt with a billet cover, lower stall heavier sprag, new clutch lining and updates for around $600. That MAY solve your problem but without solid diagnostics and pressure tests there is now to say for sure. Both the parts and the TC rebuild can be had locally, Forest Park Ga.
A solid rebuilt transmission with some updates is around $4000. You can get that locally in Griffin Ga as a carry out or truck drop off.
