I've been told by more than a couple of people that the new cummings (Third generation) is being made in china. Could anybody tell me if there is any truth in this. I have been looking for a newer truck.

Yes, it is possbile the CUMMINGS could be made in China... However, Dodge is still using CUMMINS engines so it doesn't matter...

Not only that, Ford owns CUMMINGS!

I owen a truck & tractor repair shop I do like the cummins, I don't like chines tractors or a truck with them.

Ford only owens 20% of cummins, they sold just enough for retooling.

Ford doesn't own any percentage of Cummins. Fords does own 100% of Cummings.

The 5. 9 Cummins is built in Columbus, Indiana, United States of America.

Ford does own CUMMINGS, not CUMMINS...

No, ya'll know I was Just razing with my reply ;) ... It grates the hell out of me when people call it a CUMMINGS :-laf

Who DOESN'T have a plant in China!? And Mexico, too!

I think a good number of our Dodge trucks are assembled in Sautillo, Mexico...

When I was waiting for my 02 gasser to get delivered it was coming from Mexico. The dealer still showed awaiting shipment when it arrived on his lot.

Here's the latest from Cummins Shareholders meeting in May 2005

Cummins strong partnership with DaimlerChrysler. Cummins is the exclusive supplier of diesel engines for the Dodge Ram pickup truck, with shipments in 2004 of about 154,000 engines produced at the Company's MidRange Engine Plant in Walesboro, Ind. Solso said 2005 sales to DaimlerChrysler are expected to exceed last year's record volume, aided by the introduction of Dodge's new "Megacab" Ram later this summer.

Just the facts....

Let me put some things to rest once and for all.

1) Ford owns Cummings.

2) Cummings are made in China.

3) Everyone gets at least 30 mpg -- if you don't something's wrong.

4) The G56 is a Getrag.

5) The oil pressure gauge is a true reading -- you can trust it.

6) The A/C is colder on the passenger side.

and last but not least.....

7) The A/C compressor should never ever ever ever clunk.

Ok -- What did I miss?
