Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) is it worth buying

i have a chance to buy a 2005 1ton 4x4dually it has 244000 miles on it it belonged to a farm looks to be in good shape but that is a lot of miles what do i need to look for i know a lot of people get a lot more miles than that but i thoght i would ask someone that really knows it is also automatic thanks

The answer depends on condition, price, and how the truck was used and serviced. It could be a bargain, it could also be an overpriced useless pile of junk needing everything repaired or replaced.

The 244k miles alone is not a big deal. How the truck was used/abused and serviced is what matters most.
