Truck won't start???

Mine is an O5 QC w/ G56 4X4 w/ 285BFGs. I realy love the truck but the wife doesn't care to much to drive it cause of the manual transmission. I am thinking about getting the MC w/ auto so it will be a little more wife friendly. But am also looking at going up to 315s on the tires.

Will the MPG drop w/ the auto? I think I read somewhere that he auto has longer gears. Is this true.

I also heard from a DC saleman that the new autos are made by Allison.

Will we see a low interest rate incentive at the end of the year?

The Auto overdrive is taller taller then the old NV5600 by a little and a fair amount taller then the new G56 being used. Where in the WORLD did a SALEMAN come up with ALLISION GEEZ where DO these guys get their INFO. ALLISION is USED by G. M. in light pickups. PERIOD! The trans in a MEGA is the D. C. 48re as used since 03. On the NEWER H. D. work truck there is talk of a ASIAN WARNER auto going to be used. So the Mega has a ALLISION auto and a CUMMINS engine owned by FORD. I use to leave job applications from WAFFLE HOUSE on desks of sales persons like that. :D

The other day I was at a stoplight next to a diesel pickup that had the words "Allison Transmission" on the Duramax plate, right next to the word "Duramax". Maybe it was an aftermarket modification and badging.

Um. Explain to me why you want HER to drive it? Doesn't she adjust the seat/mirrors/pedals and leave used snot rags in the drink holders? That's why I bought her her OWN car -- stay outta mine (just help pay for it, please).

I try to get her to drive while I am offshore. Sometimes I am gone for a month at a time so I like to keep the engine wet to cut down on rough starts when I get back. Aslo the mega will help out w/ the 3 kids.

I just bought a MC the other day. I was more worried about not being able to get a long bed, but with all the room behind the back seat there is plenty of room to store all the tools and stuff that took up the front 2 feet of my long bed! Plus it's easier to get to. I got the auto, as I drove the G56 and the gearing was a little low for a truck that isn't pulling often, and when it does, it's not super heavy. The RE48 and 3. 73's feel great! At 70, the rpm's are right at 2000; in the G56 they'd be at about 2200 or so, even with the 3. 53's. I also got the Jake Brake and LOVE it! Sounds cool, works great. I haven't filled up yet, so I can't really speak to mileage, but the overhead liar says a little over 16 running from Reno to Carson City and back a few times and around town. Still getting used to the way it looks too, but it's growing on me fast. As I told my wife, when you're inside you can't tell if the outside looks funny!
