Launch Shudder when towing

Hi
I just discovered that when the mirrors are flipped up on my truck, 'up' on the switch moves the mirror down, 'left' moves it right, etc. I assumed it was a glitch in the RHD conversion but the conversion company says it comes that way from factory. Is this right?
Cheers

Nope, on my 10 and 14, when the mirrors are up, up is up and left is left. Something is wired backwards on your rig.

Agree with Hoefler, mine are up all time and work normal.. Of course when you get "Down Under" isn't everything backwards???:eek:

I was thinking the same thing, it would seem reasonable in a land where the toilet water swirls in the opposite direction, caution signs for camels instead of moose, and running stuff on the armrest with your right hand....

Wired wrong for sure....

OK, so I've spoken to the company and he's now confused.

So, with apologies for being pedantic, here are my symptoms with particularity:

In the folded-down mode, if I press the controller towards the front of the car, the mirror tilts UP.
In the flipped-up mode, if I press the controller towards the front of the car, the mirror tilts DOWN.

Can you guys please confirm that this is not factory standard?

Thanks

It is NOT factory standard. Apparently something inside your mirrors is not recognizing that they're in the towing or non-towing mode (I'd liken to an old-style mercury tilt switch)......or they are indeed wired incorrectly.

Just a few minutes ago, I checked mine. With the left side mirror in non-towing mode, a press of the button towards the front of the truck will move my mirror upward. With the left side mirror in towing mode, a press of the button towards the front of the truck will move my mirror upward.

I can also leave my driver's side mirror in tow mode, switch over to the passenger's side mirror, and the controls work as they should----even with one mirror up and one mirror down.

Mine operates like GSBrockman's.

I would have expected the mirror to tilt outward instead of up if it didn't seat correctly. Or recognize the position change

Thanks, that's helpfully precise. (No sarcasm. I think my conversion guy is more getting confused than being deliberately obstructive.)

Roger that. If they didn't realise they were being rotated, they'd be 90 degrees out, not 180. Yep, it's for sure a conversion issue. Sigh. Back to the company.

Thanks again guys.

Matt, take the truck to a dealer and have the BCM reconfigured. The programming may not have been set correctly for having tow mirrors. It should take about 10 minutes.
