I replaced the original thermostat at about 40000. One side had broke off. The replacement doesn't get hot enough (about 150-160; colder when it's real cold out. I am very interested in the Cummins replacement, but only if it's different. I should just break down and buy the horten(sp) fan. . .
They showed me a first generation Cummins t-stat. Twice as heavy duty, much larger with a price tag of around $75, instead of the $27 I paid for junk. . .

The only difference I know of between the 2 is the price. I paid aroudn $12. 00 for the Cummins one about 2 years ago. If you want to be sure its working, get a thermomoter, a pot of water, and a stove and start cooking the thermostat. Watch what temp it opens at.

When mine went bad, it was not opening all the way, everything was fine, until I would tow my 5th wheel. then when I tried to go any faster then 50 MPH towing, the temp would start to climb.
