I have a stock 2k dually with a automatic trans, this is the only auto diesel dodge truck I have driven and I dont know if this is normal or not? when I drive it down the road and run it past 2 k rpm I have noticed when I let off the acc pedel quickly , I see the tach drop to 1 1/2 thousand rpm and it feels like its kind of free wheeling until it slows way down? I have also tried it in other gears (gearing down and it does the same thing!) is this normal, does these trucks not really have much back pressure when decelerating? it pulls strong and the trans does not slip even when Im pulling a trailer up hill and it shifting up the gears either, I hope some of you guys can help, thanks for reading this ad!

Normal

Yes, that is normal. It pretty much freewheels with OD on. Try punching the OD off, it will keep the rpms up some down to

about 12 mph. bg

It is a Dodge EPA thing. They program the PCM to unlock the converter in idle. A DTT smart contoler will fix that. There are many other fixes to. There are valve body issues and electronic issues to it.

Thanks again Guys! I didnt think anything was wrong with my trans but I didnt want to drive it without knowing for sure! what you dont know CAN hurt you!
