Here I am

Is my autometer Pyro dead/dying? It's "stuck" at 550-600.

Edge BB Ceramic Turbo

Pyro "S" and "I" connections

The title says it all. It's completely unresponsive. It's done this before, but always "snapped out of it" after a minute or two.

Now, I made the whole 13 min drive to work with NO MOVEMENT!

It's not a ground issue, because if I unground it, the needle dives below zero.

Is the probe toast? Or is the probe good and the guage bad?

Finally, if it IS the gauge, can I reuse the same probe and wiring with a different pyro (non-Autometer.

I can't imagine soot buildup or such is the problem- it's always had soot:D

Thanks for the help.

might just be a bad connection between the 2 leads on the thermalcouple. . ???

but a k-type thermalcouple is the same as any other k-type. it'll work just fine with other brands [although they might say it won't]

Gauge is working fine again. All connections seem fine. I haven't done anything differently, so this is mysterious.

WOW!!! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM AUTOMETER!!!

I called them and explained how the guage seemed to stick.

30 seconds later, I was off the phone and a new probe and harness were on the way to me-- FREE OF CHARGE!!

WAY TO GO, AUTOMETER-- GREAT SERVICE!

I hope this fixes it.

Mine does this a couple times a year. Let me know if the new gear fixes yours... I might try it.
