I had posted a few weeks back about the increased odor of raw fuel seeming to be coming from the exhaust. The truck is my 03 with 150k on clock. I haven't noticed in difference in the performace of the truck, but the milage may be down a little. Hard to tell with the winter fuel and all.

I finally noticed this weekend that after running the truck for a while and stopping and letting idle for 5 minutes or longer that it begins to have some white smoke in the exhaust.

My best quess is that I do indeed have an injector that is not spraying properly.

So here is my plan. Remove all 6 injectors and send them off to be inspected and repaired and have 25hp tips installed.

Next question whose tips to I go with.

Sounds like a good plan. I sent mine to F1 and they tested and fixed the bad ones and returned them in less then a week. Not a hard job if you take your time.

I know I am off topic again.

Where are you located? I am looking at AR as a location and am confused as to your using winter fuel. We are single digit + temps daytime and single digit - temps at night and I am not even considering winter fuel yet. Not until high temps don't get above -10 or so for extended periods do I start to use a little bit of mix.

I run Amsoils Diesel concentrate with cold flow improver. I have gone to as low as 20 below with straight #2 with this product with no issues.

No I haven't set the Valves since new figured to do that while I was in there also.

I just got back from a trip to OK city and filled up at the Flying J in the city and I heard the attendant say that they had started using there winter blend in there fuel.

Yes here in Arkansas we don't see the real cold winters that yall see but all of the stations here treat there fuel to prevent some one from buying fuel here and driving north and having problems. By the way I have an aux tank in the bed and have had it gel in the low 20s and upper teens. When it does the stock tank has always been good just flip switch and let aux tank warm up and all is good.

With 150k I would not recommend reusing the old injectors. The solenoids have used up their safe life. Start with new and up grade nozzles if you are looking for a bit more power. I would step up at least 40hp.
