Is my truck OK towing this

We got a 30' GN we are towing two jeeps around 7K with spare parts tools etc... trailer is around 5500 or so. which puts total at 12. 5K My truck is a 02 2500 auto. We are currently towing it with my friends 05 ctd. I know I need my trans built but other than that is it ok to tow with?

well... here comes the overweight speach from some. you will be over weight, i agree. but with the right precautions all would be fine. im not sure about the exhaust brake and older automatics, but if it is doable go for it. make sure you have a great break controller and tip top trailer/truck brakes. take your time and be cautious.



some air bags will be needed i would have to say as well.



i tow 18. 5k total weight with my 32 foot goose. well over weight, but with all thre axles on the trailer braking and the exhaust brake i have no issues. i am right on top of my tire's limits and will be making my short box a dually on 19. 5's in the future.



then my only concern is power. i have enough, but want more... who doesnt?

You should be fine and should only be over the GVWR of the truck not over any GAWR or trailer GVWR. You don't say what kind of tires you have so I assume some sort of E range 16's. Keep them at 80 PSI on the rear and you're good to go!
