I use rotella in the ol' 24 valve. Is it ok to use in a toyota 22r? Seems like it would be better in all respects than regular penzoil.

I don't have a bottle handy but most diesel oils are also rated for cars API service SJ or SH or whatever the latest is. Look in the owners manual and look on the oil bottle. Of course it needs to have the cg-4 or ch-4 for us to use.

I'm running Delo 15/40 in everything... Dodge,MBZ,Air cooled VW. My Dad had a '63 Porsche that ran Rotella 30wt. its entire time until we tore the engine down for a rebuild. My Dad measured everything and the engine went back together standard crank,re-ringed sleeves. Ran like a top.

The 22R in Toyota PU has almost 300k trouble free miles on it with only Delo 15-40, almost 100% of the miles have been in the frozen north. Guess it must work. I would think Rotella would be the same.

I agree with Lurch, anything is better than Penzoil. However rotella will work great for gas engines with the exception of smaller engines ex 4cyl. and V-6's. It will work fine in the smaller engines if they are higher in the miles though and the clearences aren't what they used to be. So if your 22R has 100k plus on the clock I would say go for it, you will have better oil P. S. I too.

My thoughts.

I had a 77 Scout with a 345, it only ran about 12-15 psi oil pressure using 10w-30. I filled it with the mystic 15w-50 that I ran in my first gen, and it went to 20psi, and quit burning so much oil.

I use Mobil Delvac 1300 Super in my truck and our boat. It has a Mercruiser 5. 0L V8 and I was told by the dealer to use the same oil I use in my truck. He told me they use Delo 400 in all of the oil changes they do for boats. The boat has 36 hours on it and so far so good.

Rotella T

All other oil's are made for lubeing chain's on bike's. I to use Rotella in all engine's, Ive pulled down to many engine's, and seen first hand the result's of Delo and most other brand's. Engine's with Rotella look new. Harv

I use it in everything (trucks, tractors, semis, wife's Suburban) except some of these newer gasoline engines that call for a 5w30 and have had good luck with it.

BTW, what do you think would be the best 5w30 oil?
