04 Ford transmission Problems

We got a truck at the school that has two fuel tanks. One tank is for the diesel engine that powers the truck. The other tank is for red dye wich is used for powering the Thermo King. The instructor at the school says that its perfecty legal to do. Wonder how much grief they get when they get there tanks sticked? The truck does not belong to the school. Its a customers truck.

Not if your running on public roads. The dyed diesel is tax exempt. Used for construction equipment, farm machinery, anything that isn't driven on the hwy. If you get caught it's a hefty fine. Don't fool with the fuel revenuers.

I imagine you'd have some explaining to do to the man that dips the tank, especially if it looks like a second stock tank. But once they see the seperate plumbing, it should be OK. Shouldn't be much different than all the guys that run around home with the diesel tank in the back of the truck full of red for their equipment.

Its legal to run red in the refer as long as its a separate tank, the big rigs get checked fairly often so you can't get away with cheating like on the pickups.

My guess is that the truck in question, is a straight truck, not truck/tractor. It probably is a truck mounted cold box, not seperate as in trailer mounted.

Oh I left out some details again. Yea its a strait truck. Its a volvo truck powered by a 3126 cat. Its quite a nice little setup. The owners are school bus drivers. They needed some more income especially during the summer months. They head out to big concerts and any outdoor events. They basically handle all the bar-b-queing. Not a bad investment for 8 grand. The Cat is pretty much new. Low miles. Just needs a little work. Keeps us school boys busy.
