Is Stellantis data collection done by consent?

That's why I want to remove the hardware. But I am curious about the buying process and experience as it pertains to voluntarily consent. Removing telematics is not a new idea and there are many post scattered on various forums about how to do it on different vehicles. I have read Rams up to MY '24 removing the telematics without adverse effects and functional nav/xm. Being a '25 no one really knows, but I will try. For the skeptical, Stellantis has a company dedicated to selling your data.

but...do you enjoy all those calls trying to sell you extended warranties?

They usually get that information from when you bring your vehicle into a service shop (not even a RAM shop), or your DMV has the info on hand.

Ever go on AdvanceAuto (and many others), and you can search for parts by your license plate number?

Nothing is confidential no more. Nothing.

I never got a call from a manufacturer.

Again, it's the vehicles data they use and sell, not the owners, not the drivers. Big difference. So, there is no VIN sold, no phone number, no names. Nothing that is related to you as a Person, nothing that can be back tracked to you as a Person.

Even european privacy laws are fine with that and everyone knows how strict these laws are nowadays.

And scam calls are a whole different animal as they just call random phone numbers. Just the topic changes, in the US it's scam car warranties, in Switzerland it is scam health insurance.
Seems Americans care more about their car then their health and the scammers adjusted to that. LOL

NOT sure this is true as I have read that insurance companies can buy and track individual customers driving data and traits from the vehicle data that is sold…so SOMETHING is not completely anonymized.
