Mabee the title is a bit misleading. :rolleyes: When everyone seems to be able to go faster than me, i guess I can't really call that racing. :((Not that I ever would race or anything. :rolleyes: :eek: :D Just have to make sure I got that in here somewhere. :p ) Anyways, is comming off a light WOT till about 60 mph hard on our engines? Is all the high reving O. K. ? Just curious as I have always heard that this type of stuff in a diesel is a no no. Thanks.

I would guess its ok seeing as its not really reving all that high. Unless you have installed a govenor spring. I am kinda hard on my truck sometimes too. So,I will be interested to see what the vets have to say. But you know,guys drag diesel trucks all the time.

You were hotrodding your truck? OH, the shame :{

I'll bet you even made a bunch of that icky black smoke/soot come outa your trail pipe and stuff to :eek:

You know its awsome when you pull up in a local hang out and here the ricers say "don't mess with that truck!" (refering to my previous 97 2500 4x4) :eek: :-laf Oo.

Street racing is probably the most destructive thing one can do to the trans. The engine won't give a darn. You'll likely blow the head gasket if you have performed certain mods with out others. I'm thinking our post IC heads are good for 50 psi.

Street Racing is illegal, I would never do that, but I think it's harder on my transmission when I beat the powerstrokes to the next stoplight when I'm towing my boat :-laf :-laf :-laf

There needs to be more drag strips around! keep em open late, sign a waver of any legal crap. If you want to race do it on the strip rather than running the risk of wreckless driving and losing your license and/or truck! Im guilty as well of puttin' the hammer down against everything thats next to me at the light. I used to dread red lights #ad
now I slow & hope for one :-laf

Keep on truckin!

:eek: :eek: is what the PS owner is doing :eek: :eek:

Let me make sure I get it in here again. I do not street race. That is illegal and dangerous. However I do clean my air filter out often, and that might involve flooring the pedal while coming off a light. ;) Even if the guy beside me is doing the same thing. Or as boatpuller said getting to the next light first. :D As for the transmission it is a 727, the Hemi's used them, so I sould have no problem. Right? No I am not a street racer... ... :eek:
