Aftermarket Exhaust Manifold

Trans temp probe keeps failing

Im building another 97 12valve with quite a bit of fuel lots of internal pump work, 370's, Super High Flow Delivery Valves,4000 GSK and i was wondering if anybody has any good or bad feed back on the aurora 5000 from ATS.

Im thinking of either that turbo or one of the B1's from Piers. I will be running NOS and meth. through it so... ...

Thanks Michael

The B-1 and the A5K are not even close to the same class of turbo. I have the A5K on my 12valve and I love it! It runs 72psi without any issues for a long time now (2 years in July '06). I highly recommend it for racing. And as with any "large" single use a progressive nitrous controller, or you'll be buying lots of chargers... . don't let anyone tell you ANY charger is bulletproof!

Blew one up with a 140 shot of spray, it didn't blow when the spray came on it blew a little before the 1/8 mile, when I locked up the torque converter. It broke the shaft. Way too much money for a week turbo.

Several of the Duramax guys run the Aurora 5000 and do very well sledpulling with them.

I got to ride in a 2003 Dodge with an Aurora and that truck absolutely flew!!

Needless to say I was very impressed.

Drugs are very bad for you. Just say NO. :-laf

Would the 5000 be good for towin, or is it just a street turbo. We only tow about 6k, most of it is flat roads, but then I hit the mountains for a little while. Should I look into somethin else?

Do a small set of twins, stock on top and B2 on bottom, you would be much happier. At 1800 rpm, at 70 mph, empty I left a smoke trail behind my truck with the aurora 5000. Spool up to 8 psi was pretty quick, but it hung there and was hard to get past it with the loosest converter that dtt had. If you don't mind pulling the trailer in 3rd gear, it will work.
