On another forum it was mentioned that the EPA is starting to crackdown on the emissions for our trucks starting with pressuring the manufacturers that make the tuners and emission delete products. I'm sure it's directed at the 2007. 5 and later trucks now but what about the 5. 9L 3rd gens with just the cat converters.

See what H&S Performance just released:

All the ME tunes have been removed from the MADS website as well. Nothing official form MADS yet, but speculation is that it's related.

If I owned a shop that installed any delete systems I would be worried. That is where they will go next. What is the fine, something like $25,000 each occurrence?

I may be remembering this wrong since I was a lot younger then, but wasn't there a similar movement against gas engine performance parts in mid-late 70's after the first round of vehicle pollution laws. I remember for certain a big boom in the # of things available in the late '80's with all the CARB compliant offerings in the aftermarket.

Well we cant sit here and take it! In AZ they have a ticket you can achieve by accelerating onto the highway and hitting your brakes to merge with traffic... "waste of a finite resource" is what you get. SO, including all the OTR trucks and lite trucks out there, how much faster are we wasting this finite resource and why is it ok? We are not talking about polluting like a gas vehicle does, and why are we the only country using these systems? (as far as i know) we deserve answers to our questions and the EPA better have good reasons right? So are we all going to start writing letters about this to the EPA or wait til we have no rights? If Obama has his way we wont have any left and all be sheep. O and special thanks to "BOB" or whatever his name is from EDGE Products who was going around to all the shops and snooping on the dpf delete stuff after they got in trouble. They were deffinetly involved in shutting the other companys doors... . crying lil pansies... .

... . and why are we the only country using these systems? (as far as i know)... ...

Europe has stringent air pollution standards as well, although they're centered on greenhouse gases (CO, CO2, etc. ) rather than smog precursors as in the U. S. (NOx, particulates, etc. ). DEF was used in Europe for years before it showed up in the U. S.

The real blue tec system came from europe,we were late getting into the dpf systems. Same goes for the common rails-we were late getting that too

The EPA has just been empowered by the votes of millions of Americans. Complaining here, sending the WH petitions, etc. is no more effective than urinating into the wind. The damage has been done. Many TDR members elected the administration and set this in motion four years ago. The excessive regulating and loss of individual rights and freedom has only begun. You haven't seen anything yet.

Elections have consequences.

You guys are too funny... I like Harvey's point of view. Just keep in mind, you are already on a computer attached to the internet, using a cell phone with gps, driving a car with lojack, buying guns and ammo, etc so we are all screwed. If they want to track/research somebody, it's not that difficult.
