My 2004. 5 3500 has 78,000 miles. I posted in another thread about a continuosly squeaking belt. Before I had time to change it, it looks like it is now starting to shred. I took a quick look and saw some radiator fluid under the truck. The squeaking may have been the pulley on the water pump. I don't really know yet. If it is, is it still covered under warranty?

Thanks,

Jeff

Its covered under the 7/100000 engine warranty(not the powertrain) with a $100 deductable in years 6 and 7. Belt is not covered. Its not a costly or hard pump to do.

Just did a pump on my friends 04 with just short of 100,000 mi the bearing failed and took out the seal... . Anyone else finding these pumps failing a bit too soon???? the one in my 89 lasted over 200,000 mi I replaced it when I did the head gasket and injection pump... ...

Mine went last summer at about 96K miles with a failed seal.

Jeff, I think it should be covered under warranty, but even if it isn't you can get one from Advance Auto for a little over $50 with a limited lifetime warranty. They are fairly easy to replace. Drain the radiator, remove the serpentine belt, two bolts and that's it.
