they have a pretty good picture on page 122 in dec issue of diesel power on the "project x" 3rd gen cummins, they claim 860 and 1655 torque with a single silver bullet and some drugs

I just got finished reading the article about project X. The intake looks nice. I just wonder what it would cost for me to ship my head off and have it ported and polished along with installing the intake manifold?

Looks like this will help keep number 6 cooler

by the same guy? around $4000+, but it's worth every penny :D

id rather get a milling machine a tig welder and some aluminum, spend some time learning on junk and do it myself if it costed that much and i wanted one bad enough, would cost less if you don't count time invested plus you get some cool tools to play with

I can pull the head my self at work. All I need is someone to mill off the intake manifold and drill and tap the correct holes or weld the zz intake onto the head. Im just thinking out of the box, If I have the head off why not have a full port and polish job done. But at 4,000 bucks I think I will wait until the truck is paid off. .

Any one knowtice the resst of the intake was the stock part and not a banks or ats part, you would think if it was worth power they would use something other than stock.

Great thread guys a few questions. Sounds like their maybe is some competion in the market place for bolt on intakes.

I have been looking at the ZZ manifold since Comp first brought it up some time ago. The ZZ website does not give many specifics, but mostly I am concerned about EGT reduction. The Hp level of my truck is pretty close to where I think I might like it to stay.

Are these manifolds are strictly to gain a competive edge or would they show improvements that would be worth while for a "Street Squirrel" type?

With the addition of this manifold plus a bit of head porting what that help a 24v truck out much with EGT reduction? In my case 150F would be huge.

Compared to twins and the stuck OEM manifold and porting, how do you think that would compare? Badically dollar for dollar spent I am wondering if the two could compare.

I dont have diesel power mag,,,,,,, I have TDR Mag.

I cant believe that this has been available since oct, and no one has pic's.

so its $800 for the intake and $3000 for the head mod??

When the time comes ZZ will get the call... and my $$$$ :D . Great guy to talk to and his resume speaks for itself!! If I recall correctly $1000 for the manifold w/o NO2 spray bar and $300 to itstall if you send him the head! Port work is not his gig and can be neg. how much you want to spend, with shops nearby!
