It looks as if many people have/have had a slight ticking squeak from the Serp. belt. Not the screech at shutdown or a bad p/s pump. That real light tic, tic, tic, tictictic. Has anyone found a good fix for this?

Thought I read recently that someone WD'ed one of the pullies but cant find the post. I remember my '05 Dodge doing it and it just went away one day.

My answer was to dig into my tool box for an old stick of belt dressing that's been there for 35 years.....

I snapped of the end of a yard stick and taped the stick to it at least 35 years ago... and each time I need it, I dig it out... . it either came from through Goodyear or Napa at the time... I was running a Goodyear Tire Store.....

1 1/2" diameter and 6" long... I think maybe I've worn off 2" in all this time using it when I needed it... . I'd bet Napa would still have it... .

The stick of course was you could rub it into a running belt and not put your hand into it... with the vehicle running it takes maybe 10 to 15 seconds to coat the working surface of the belt...
