Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) is there a way to check for defueling?

is it possible to check for defueling while driving with a scan tool of some sorts? what does the it, ECM or PCM ??

The ECM controls defueling. You can monitor the diffrent parameters that can cause defueling but I don't think there is anything that tells you it is actually defueling.

You can watch the fuel pulse width signal get shorter when it starts to defuel. I've used a Fluke low-draw amp clamp and the Fluke 98 automotive scope to watch the signal. Pretty cool stuff! Works on PSDs too.
