My truck is definitely a daily driver and rarely sees truck use (pulling, hauling, and occasionally a run in the sand or mud).

I have the edge Juice/with attitude which reads the fuel pressure at the pump. The pressure is normally 15 PSI +, the return line check valve is always venting. I run the Holley blue in series with the intank fuel pump. It keeps lots of pressure even under WOT, I have tried running each of them independent, but during heavy acceleration the fuel pressures drop significantly. I have a Racor 500 water seperator with a 2 micron (nominal) filter (there is a big difference between nominal and absolute filters) between the in-tank fuel pump and the Holley blue. I have the Mopar high efficeny fuel filter in the stock bowl.

It could be bad rebuilds, but L & J tells me they are using the latest and greats Bosch updates. I just know this truck has been a VP-44 nightmare for the last 2 years. Every issue with the truck has been related to the VP-44.

As a side note, we found that lose/severly corroded ground cables will kill the VP-44's electronics. L & J changed out one of the pumps and left the 10 gauge ground disconnected at the left battery. The truck threw like 15 codes and barely ran after the engine warmed up.

Stanberry,

Uh, nope. Actually a good friend of mine was the one who was paid to do the conversion and then paid to undo the conversion.

I do agree the P7100 pump is superior - IF you are talking about longevity. If you are talking easily tuned and capabilities the VP44 is tops in that category for street driven trucks which is what the thread is about - not sled pullers or drag racers.

Godspeed,

Trent

the P7100 is easily tuned... for very little money... I would say the Common Rail tops the VP44 a hundred times over

Okay,

I have three options available:

Stay with VP-44

Convert to P-pump

Swap out the 24V to 12V

I have the complete 12V...

Where can I find data packages for these conversions?
