I have been toying with the thought of installing an oil and water temp gauge, to keep a closer watch on the fluctuation of temps. I know for the oil you can just tap into the extra plug on top of the oil filter. Has anyone attempted this, and if so, where would you mount the sending unit for the water temp?

Chris. .

I have only seen one aftermarket water temp gauge on a 12 valve which was a addition to the factory gauge setup. The owner took the small air bypass hose at the top of the thermostat housing and added a fitting allow for the installation a Dakota Digital water temp gauge. What he did was to remove the top fitting and install a fitting which had a temperature port on the side. He then hooked the hose back into the top and intaslled the electrical sender into the side.

All of the other water temp istalls I have seen have replaced the factory sender and eliminated Ma Mopars dash unit... ... . Andy
